It has been difficult to know diversity of life because special biological training is required to precisely recognize species. Now, we can easily distinguish many species by determining DNA sequences. DNA can be considered as a name card of each species.
In this lecture, Dr. Yamamoto will present what DNA barcoding is, how organisms are identified by the method, and then case studies of environmental DNA research.
