The Division of Support for Human and Community Development as one of he Master’s and Doctoral programs focuses on the human development through various functions of social and/or educational support in modern society. The division is divided into the following five research fields: Lifelong Learning, Gender Equity Learning, Empowerment, Child Development, and Continuing Education. This division involves practical study based on action research method. In addition to this, we study theoretically and practically five of the six sections at the Center for Human and Community Development, namely, “Support of Research and Learning for Gender Equity,” “Support for Child and Family,” “Support for Adult Learning,” “Support for Inclusive Society” and “Support for Volunteer Society ” mainly in the context of non-formal and informal education. This division also has an alternative Master’s program of one-year, which is rarely seen in the nation. It is aimed mainly at those who are currently employed. By studying and researching academically based on their professional experience, students in this one-year program are expected to enhance the quality of their professional activities when they back in their workplaces. Two modules in the Center for Human and Community Development, namely “Support for Child and family support” and “Support for Inclusive Society” provide the students with action research field i.e., the satellite facility “Arch”, which is affiliated to the Graduate School of Human Development and Environment. This division aims to develop both practical and academic skills that are essential attributes for a wide range of careers including industry, administration, and NPOs.
