Advanced Human Environmental Science (Adjunct)

Keywords
Atmospheric Environmental Science, Ozone and Aerosols, Health Engineering, Biosensors, Greenhouse Gases, Biological Stress

Within the field of Human Environmental Sciences, the “Division of Advanced Human Environmental Science” has been established as part of Doctoral Program in collaboration with the National Institute of Environmental Studies and the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology. This division aims to nurture the next generation of environmental scientists by linking systematically educated graduate students with core research facilities that promote advanced research in the field of environmental science. Education and research are currently being undertaken in the fields of Atmospheric Environmental Science and Health Research from the basic research to the practical applications with the cooperation of the National Institute of Environmental Studies and the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology. Specific research topics include: the chemical processes related to the generation and depletion of ozone and aerosols within the atmosphere; the increase in greenhouse gas concentrations and its effect on atmospheric environment; development of microanalysis systems linked to the application of biological and environmental analyses; development of microfluidic devices and biosensors using nanobiotechnology; and experimental research in environmental pollution and biological stress response monitoring.
