14th Hyogo Science E-cafe "Synthetic Biology : Make Biological Phenomena Yourself"
Although biology normally means to investigate a biological phenomenon by examining it, synthetic biology is a new field of biology where researchers try to MAKE a biological phenomenon to understand it. We can engineer cells so that they can form a pattern by themselves, for instance. In the talk, I will introduce my favorite examples of synthetic biology as well as the cellular behaviors I have made so far. After that, I would like to hear what kind of biological phenomenon YOU would like to make.
